Rita V. (Cipriani) Geromini of Franklin, MA, age 91, passed away peacefully at her home on June 29, 2022, with her husband and family by her side. She was the loving wife of Carlo Geromini for the past 66 years

Born in Milford, MA, on February 28, 1931, a daughter of the late Alfred and Lucia (Devenuto) Cipriani, she was raised and educated in Milford public schools, graduating from Milford High School in 1949. At Milford High School she was a cheerleader, a member of the French Club, and was active in many other school activities. Upon graduation from Milford High School, she entered the Milford Hospital School of Nursing, where she graduated as a Registered Nurse, and worked in the Maternity Ward at Milford Hospital before accepting a position at Malden City Hospital. After serving two years at Malden City Hospital, Rita returned to Milford Hospital and worked in the Maternity Ward for 41 years, before retiring in 1993.

An avid gardener and former member of the Franklin Garden Club, Rita took great enjoyment working in her vegetable and flower gardens where she would spend many hours tending to her plants and flower beds. She also enjoyed many winter ski vacations, vacationing on Cape Cod, going to antique shows and trips to Italy. As a former member of the Friends of the Boston Symphony, Rita always looked forward to attending performances of the Boston Symphony Orchestra. Among her other interests, Rita took classes in needlepoint, rug making and stained-glass work. Along with her husband, she was a family member of the Friends of the Franklin Library and The Friends of Franklin Elders.

Most of all Rita enjoyed spending time with her family, cooking and entertaining, especially at Thanksgiving, Christmas and other holidays. She was happiest when she was surrounded by her children, their wives, and being a loving “Nonnie” to her grandchildren.

Rita was the loving mother of three sons, Peter Charles Geromini of Franklin, MA, Christopher Robert Geromini of Franklin MA, and the late Paul Joseph Geromini, who passed away at age six in1965 after a brave battle with leukemia. In addition to her husband and two sons, she is survived by Peter’s wife Karen (Roth) and their children, Katherine, Paul Matthew, and Sarah; and Christopher’s wife Marisa (Simon) and their children, Julia and Vincent. She is pre-deceased by her siblings Louisa Moran and her late husband J. Fred Moran of Milford MA, Anthony Cipriani the husband of Marie of Milford MA, Katherine Kane and her late husband Lee Kane of West Hartford CT, Eleanor Richards and her late husband Albert Richards of Marion Ma as well as her twin brother Robert Cipriani (his wife Elaine) of Sandwich Mass. She is also survived by many nephews and nieces.

At her request, there are no calling hours, and the funeral and burial services are private.
