A friendly interchange at the Design Review Commission meeting, Tuesday evening, made little progress toward getting sign off on new signage for the King Street Dunkin location
Broadly, the Dunkin location is trying to conform to the latest shifts in corporate branding and also update the signage, which has been in place for years. And while the sign contractor, View Point Sign and Awning, appears to doing their level best to meet Franklin’s requirements, how to do so isn’t always clear.
And Tuesday’s meeting was a good example with Commissioner’s, figuratively scratching their respective heads to determine which parts of the bylaw apply.
However, what is clear is that a hoped for “Franklin Runs on Dunkin” slogan will probably be much reduced in scale.
The upshot was that the members of the Commission again voted to continue the hearing so that the vendor can further refine their plans and drawings based on feedback.
It was also acknowledged that two newly sworn in members, Cassandra Bethoney and Paul Lopez, participated fully during the meetings, since their appointments were approved by the Town Council a week earlier.
