Above, Kathy Ryan and grandson Gavin were caught in the act, creatively painting a town fire hydrant on Marvin Ave. as part of a DPW contest, last Thursday.
The contest is wrapping up soon and the results of hard work are visible all around town.
The winners of the contest will be announced on October 15 during the Franklin DPW Touch A Truck event from 10am-2pm (rain date October 16). The event will feature a variety of various town trucks as well as some food trucks. The Hydrant Painting winner will be announced during this event at noon, which will be held 25 Public Works Way in Franklin.
