The Planning Board met briefly Monday night to conduct hearings and discuss changes to subdivision bylaws

The first matter discussed with a public hearing regarding 700 Union Street, continued from July and August, the proposed site of a Primrose School location. In previous hearings the Board had questions and raised a number of issues.

In their return visit Monday, several matters including sidewalk connections, light spillage and storm water management were discussed and dealt with to the satisfaction of the Board. After voting to close the public hearing (no one online or in person had any comments or questions). the Board voted unanimously to approve.

They then moved on to a site plan application for 704 Washington Street. At the request of the applicant the Board voted to continue the matter to December.

Under general business, members of the Board had an informal discussion of proposed changes to subdivision regulations. Most of the discussion centered around of defining when sidewalks and trees need to be in place. Some concern was expressed about clarifying the language so that, for example, all of the sidewalks would need to be done to allow occupancy of even one house.

The Board reached an apparent consensus on those matters and Town Planner Amy Love said the language would be revised. There will be a public hearing on the subject on Dec. 5.

The Board adjourned after a total of about 30 minutes.
