Milford Regional Medical Center will once again hold its Tree of Life fundraiser on Monday, December 5 from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. at the hospital.

This special evening celebrates the life and care of those patients and families affected by cancer. Proceeds benefit the Oliva Fund, which provides resources to support patients and their families being treated at Milford Regional and the Dana-Farber/Brigham & Women’s Cancer Center at Milford Regional.

The event is sponsored by the Milford Regional Healthcare Foundation, which raises funds throughout the year to support the hospital’s most urgent and immediate patient care needs.

The December 5 event kicks off with refreshments and entertainment by the Whitinsville Christian School Voice Ensemble, followed by a brief speaking and tree lighting ceremony.

Those who wish to donate to the Tree of Life may purchase an angel to be hung on the Christmas tree to honor or in memory of someone affected by cancer. Gift levels include $200 for a gold angel, $100 for a silver angel, $25 for a luminary, or $10 for a light. Contributions may be made online at foundation.milfordregional.org/tree of life and must be received by November 30 to be included in the program.

“The Tree of Life continues to be a very meaningful opportunity to reflect, remember, and honor all those who have been touched by cancer,” said MRMC Vice President of Philanthropy and Executive Director of the Milford Regional Healthcare Foundation Emily Quinn. “It is also a time we show our gratitude for the strides the medical community has made in treating this disease that affects millions each year.”

The event is currently scheduled to take place outside, near the hospital’s front entrance. However, attendees are encouraged to view the Foundation’s website in the event of inclement weather.

Guests are kindly asked to be vaccinated and to monitor for COVID symptoms 48 hours prior to attending. Should the event be moved inside, masks will be required.

For more information on the Tree of Life or to make a contribution, view foundation.milfordregional.org/treeoflife or call 508.422.2228.
