The town is kicking off a process to update its Open Space and Recreation Plan (OSRP) -- a requirement under state law. The document was last updated in 2016
The OSRP process will be led by the Franklin Conservation Commission with support from the Conservation Agent/Natural Resource Protection Manager, Department of Planning and Community Development and the Department of Recreation. Over the course of 9 months (January 2023 - September 2023), the Town will engage the community through bimonthly focus group meetings, three public hearings, as well as a community visioning survey (Feb 2023 - April 2023) to prepare a final OSRP per State requirements. To review the 2016 OSRP, click here.
You can watch an introductory 11 minute video or peruse the "Open Space Handbook" to learn more about the OSRP, its importance and benefits. The town is reaching out to stakeholder groups and individuals in particular.
