Anthony “Tony” Karistianos, 72, of Franklin died December 30 in Good Samaritan Hospital in Brockton following a brief illness. He was the husband of Joanne M. (Pepin) Karistianos for the past 42 years.

Born in Boston, June 2,1950, the son of the late Giannis “John” Karistianos and Ourania (Tzimopoulos) Karistianos, Tony was raised in Dorchester and had lived in Franklin for the past 31 years.

Tony had been a cashier at Walgreens in Franklin before retiring.

He had previously worked for Haemonetics in Braintree for many years.

Tony enjoyed going to the gym, reading and watching sports.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his daughter Jennifer Karistianos of Bellingham and his sister Pauline Karistianos of Needham.

His funeral service will be on Tuesday, January 10 in Saint Gregory the Theologian Greek Orthodox Church, 1007 West Street, Mansfield at 10:30 a.m.

Burial will be in Union Street Cemetery, Franklin.

Calling hours will be on Monday, January 9 from 4-7 p.m. in the Ginley Funeral Home of Franklin (www.ginleyfuneralhomes.com) 131 Main Street, Franklin.
