Great Expectations

The excitement was palpable as dusk approached on Sunday at the Franklin Common. Scores and maybe hundreds of youngsters and their families were keyed to a high state of excitement by the imminent arrival of Santa and Mrs. Claus. The Franklin Fire Department did not disappoint, bringing the distinguished guests right on time, in a blaze of light and sound....

The Couple also had a hefty contingent of Franklin Police on hand to welcome them. But the children, a mixture of apprehension, awe, and excitement, were the real stars of the lively event.

And the event itself, was funded by Concerts on the Common (which always welcomes donations) at PO Box 92 Franklin, MA 02038.
