The ability of Wrentham State Rep. Marcus Vaughn to attract friends was on display last night at the Rome as an out-of-district body of supporters, mostly from Franklin broke bread and figuratively, at least, passed the hat to help boost his campaign for a second term on Beacon Hill.

And his support from farther afield was also on display with Republican National Committee member, Ron Kaufman stopping by to make a donation along with two Republican State Committeewoman, Medway's Leanne Harris and Wrentham's Amanda Peterson as well as State Committeeman Eric Calton from Needham.

Members of the Franklin Republican Committee, Milford Republican Committee and the now-forming Wrentham RTC also came out to show their support.

Coincidentally, Vaughn was just named Government Official of the Year by the Massachusetts Recreation and Parks Association (MRPA). The first-term legislator was honored by the MRPA at an awards dinner earlier in the week. The organization cited Vaughn’s sponsorship of three bills of specific importance to recreation, parks, and youth sports.

Vaughn represents the 9th Norfolk District communities of Norfolk, Plainville, and Wrentham as well as Precinct 3 and 4 in Medfield, Precinct 1 in Millis, and Precinct 5 in Walpole.
