Roland E. “Mike” Dunn, 94, of Wareham, died peacefully on Friday, April 5, 2024, at his home surrounded by his family. He was the beloved husband for over 48 years of Jean E. (Guardabascio) Dunn who died in 2009.

Born in Cabot, Vermont on June 5, 1929, he was the son of the late Edmond J. and Eva (Racine) Dunn.

Mike grew up in Laconia, New Hampshire. In 1960, he married and raised a family in Franklin, where he resided for 40 years until moving to Wareham in 2000.

Before his retirement, he worked for Franklin Public Schools, and then as a self-employed landscaper for several years. He had previously worked as a machinist at Allied Container in Dedham for 28 years.

Mike was a huge Boston sports fan, especially faithful to the Patriots. He enjoyed candlepin bowling, horseshoes, camping, gardening, table tennis, and Word Search puzzles. As an avid card and cribbage player, he was a popular member of the Swifts Beach Improvement Association in Wareham. He was also part of the Dunkin Donuts’ downtown coffee group. His favorite thing was spending time with his large family, visiting his many friends, and sitting in the sunshine with all his wonderful neighbors. He loved to entertain by telling old stories, jokes, and trivia, singing songs, reminiscing, and laughing.

He is survived by three sons, Michael Dunn of Gibsonton, Florida, Mark Dunn and his wife Anna of Franklin, and Stephen Dunn and his wife Rosette Kasse-Dunn of Uxbridge, his daughter, Ann Marie Dunn of Wareham. and five grandchildren, Rachael Dunn of Seattle, Washington, Armando, Aldo, and Angelo Dunn of Franklin, and Alex Dunn of North Providence, Rhode Island.

He is also survived by his sister, Pauline Bolduc of Laconia, New Hampshire and many nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend his funeral Mass on Wednesday, April 10 at St. Joseph Church, 151 Village St. in Medway at 11 a.m. Burial will take place privately at St. Joseph Cemetery in Medway at a later date.

Calling hours will be held on Tuesday, April 9 from 4 – 7 p.m. in the Ginley Crowley Funeral Home, 3 Barber St. in Medway (ginleyfuneralhomes.com).
