A near capacity crowd filled the meeting room at the Norfolk Public Library Wednesday evening for a debate between three Democrat candidates to fill the District 2 seat on the Massachusetts Governor’s Council. Tamisha Civil, Muriel Kramer, and David Reservitz are running in the Democratic primary on September 3, 2024.
According to her web site, ‘when the criminal justice system failed her family, candidate Tamisha Civil decided to get involved and make a positive difference. She has helped people who served their time safely re-enter their communities as an associate probation officer. She’s worked with the Suffolk County District Attorney’s office to help guide victims of crime through the complex legal system.’
Muriel Kramer, an Air Force veteran and licensed clinical social worker is also a lifetime member of the Hopkinton Democratic Town Committee and a two-term member of the selectboard there. Her other activities range from La Leche League to religious educator. She has been married for 40 years and has 6 adult children.
Candidate David Reservitz lives in Needham, Massachusetts and has experience as a trial attorney and has been involved with the Pilgrim Bar Advocates, Plymouth County Bar Association and Brockton Boys and Girls Club Governing Board.
The Governor's Council has eight members, elected every two years. The Massachusetts Governor's Council (also known as the Executive Council) provides advice and consent in certain matters – such as judicial nominations, pardons, and commutations – to the Governor of Massachusetts.
