John “Dino” Giardino, 76, of Franklin passed away peacefully on August 4, 2024 at Milford Hospital. He was the partner of the late Debra (Piccini) Hicks who passed in 2019.

Born to the late John and Pauline (Reid) Giardino in Boston, Dino graduated from Franklin HS in 1966 and joined the Air Force. He served bravely in the Vietnam War until 1970.

Dino worked at A.H. Harris & Sons and Mike’s transportation for many years.

Dino was a generous, fun-loving guy, always there for his family and friends when they needed him. He loved holidays — Christmas being his favorite — he loved to search for the right gift for his loved ones, an example of his thoughtful nature. He was an avid fan of Disney World and would often be caught planning his next trip.

He is survived by his 8 siblings; Dawn Marie Giardino of Brockport NY; Francis Giardino and his husband David Robinson of Plymouth; Bettiann Cardoza and her husband Tom of North Grosvenor Dale, CT; Paul Giardino and Sandra of Norfolk; Michael Giardino and his wife Carol of Franklin; Peter Giardino and his partner Carla Parsons of Franklin; Mary Huling and her husband Jim of Woonsocket RI; Gregory Giardino and his wife Patricia of Franklin; and sister-in-law Sandy Giardino of Franklin. He also leaves 35 nieces and nephews.

Graveside services will be held on Wednesday, Augus21 at the Massachusetts National Cemetery, Bourne at 2:00p.m.

In lieu of flowers contributions can be made to Dana Farber Cancer Institute in memory of Dino dana-farber.org/gift
