Eugene “Gene” R. Liscombe, 78, passed away peacefully in Columbus, Ohio on Monday, September 2, 2024, surrounded by loved ones after a long battle with Parkinson’s disease. He was a resident of Medway, Massachusetts most of his life.

Gene was preceded in death by his mother and father, Virginia and Gerald Liscombe. He is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Mary (Kenney) Liscombe, children, Adam Liscombe and his fiancée Morgan Wotring of Nashville, Tennessee, Robert Liscombe and his wife Emily Willcut of Pittsfield, Massachusetts, and Christina Hadler and her husband Bill of Columbus, Ohio, granddaughter, Elizabeth Hadler, and sister, Karen (Liscombe) Lee of Atlanta, Georgia.

Gene was a 1964 graduate of Medway High School, and a graduate of Bentley College, class of 1970. He was a certified public accountant until his retirement in 2019. Gene was a member of the Franklin Country Club. Gene served many organizations throughout his life including the Masonic Charles River Lodge in Medway, where he was a three-term Master of the lodge. Additionally, he was active with the Jaycees, Medway Business Council, Massachusetts Association of Certified Public Accountants, Shriners, Rotary International in Franklin, where he served a term as president of the club, and the Medway Historical Commission where he served as treasurer and a member of the Community Preservation Committee.

Gene enjoyed many outdoor activities throughout his life including hiking, skiing, scuba diving, and golf. Kind and gentle with a dry sense of humor, he was a man of many talents and always looking toward his next adventure. He will be deeply missed by his family and friends.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, September 18, 2024 at 11 a.m. at Ginley-Crowley Funeral Home, 3 Barber Street in Medway, ginleyfuneralhomes.com with a reception to follow at Restaurant 45, 45 Milford Street in Medway.
