Nancy A. Pickett, 69, of Franklin MA died Saturday (September 14, 2024) at her residence surrounded by her loved ones after a brave battle with cancer.

Nancy was born in Lynn MA, the daughter of the late Eugene Pickett and the late Mary Agnes (Downs) Pickett. She was a graduate of Milford High School, Class of 1973 and also a graduate of the former Katharine Gibbs School, located in New York City.

Nancy had been employed for over 30 years as a Child & Family Program Specialist for the federal government, working out of the Boston MA offices.

Nancy has long been an advocate for children & families in Massachusetts and was a longtime avid supporter of The Home for Little Wanderers.

Nancy loved her many trips to Kennebunk Maine and also spending time with her family members on the lake in New Hampshire. She loved the ocean, loved animals & was an avid sports fan of all forms of sports.

Nancy is survived by her 2 brothers: Eugene Pickett of Oklahoma & Paul Pickett and his wife Debbie of Oregon; also several nieces & nephews including Faith A. Villani of Milford MA who served as her care giver allowing Nancy to enjoy the comforts and peace of her own home throughout her illness.

Her funeral will be held Friday (September 20th) at 9am from the Edwards Memorial Funeral Home, 44 Congress Street, Milford MA followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10am in St. Mary of the Assumption Church, 19 Winter Street, Milford MA. Burial will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery in Milford MA. Visiting hours will be held Thursday (September 19th) from 5pm to 7pm at the Edwards Memorial Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to The Home for Little Wanderers, 72 E. Dedham Street, Boston MA 02118.

Mary M. Sweeney

Mary M. (Donovan) Sweeney 88, of Franklin, passed away peacefully, Monday September 16, 2024 at Milford Regional Medical Center. She was the beloved wife of the late George E. Sweeney.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend her funeral Monday September 23rd, at 9AM from the Charles F. Oteri and Son Franklin Funeral Home 33 Cottage St. followed by a funeral Mass in St. Mary's Church 1 Church Square, Franklin at 10AM.

Burial will follow at the parish cemetery.

Calling hours are Sunday Sept. 22nd, from 2-5PM.
