Thomas Michael Cote, 67 of Franklin, passed away peacefully, Sunday September 22, 2024 with his wife and children by his side. He was the beloved husband of Heather A. (Ross) Cote, and father of Ryan T. and Lauren E. Cote.

Tom was born in Cincinnati, OH on July 18, 1957 and raised in Enfield, CT. He joined the Army at 18 and then started a career in the construction industry in the Hartford area. He was a previous member of the Carpenter’s union. After an injury on the job he decided to go to the University of Hartford for engineering.

In June of 1994 he and his sister and brothers made a trip to Boston to see a Red Sox game. It was that day that his life changed. He met a girl, Heather, and months later moved to Waltham, MA to be with her. He joined a local engineering firm and started a job on the Big Dig. He loved being a part of that project and spent many years working on it before moving to MIT and finally ending his career at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center.

Heather and Tom moved to Arlington, MA and enjoyed many fun years before moving to Franklin to raise their two amazing children. Although he moved to Mass as a New York Yankee and Minnesota Vikings fan he soon went on to root and enjoy all of the Boston teams. You could often find him on his back patio watching games on the TV with family and friends.

He loved to cook, grill and use his smoker. Especially southern foods. He enjoyed camping with his family, especially times spent at Sebago lake in Maine. Renting pontoon boats so the kids could go tubing and his two Newfoundland dogs (Bear and Rosie) could jump in the water.

In addition to his children he is survived by five siblings, James, John, Jean, David and Richard Cote and many loving nieces and nephews. He is also the brother of the late William Cote and son of the late Roger Cote and Phyllis (Bertand) Cote.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend his funeral Friday September 27, at 9AM from the Charles F. Oteri and Son Franklin Funeral Home located at 33 Cottage St. followed by a funeral Mass in St. Mary's Church, 1 Church Square Franklin at 10AM.

Interment will follow at the parish cemetery.

Calling hours are Thursday from 4-7 PM at Oteri Funeral Home.

Donations in his memory may be made to Children’s Hospital in Boston.
