FRANKLIN: Albert Peter Palumbo

Albert Peter Palumbo, 96 of Franklin died January 9 at Milford Regional Medical Center. He was the husband of the late Maria S. (Giardiello) Palumbo who died in 2014.

Born in Franklin, September 9, 1928, the son of the late Biagio and Giulia (Rofino) Palumbo, Albert was a lifelong Franklin resident.

Albert was a graduate of Franklin High School class of 1946 and also a graduate of Boston College. Albert also obtained his Master's Degree.

He had been a Physics teacher at Wellesley High School for over 35 years.

Albert served in the Army during the Korean War attaining the rank of Private First Class.

He enjoyed being on Cape Cod and debating politics with anyone and was an avid reader of current events.

Albert is survived by his children, Jeanne Klipple and her husband Dale of Bethlehem, Pennsylvania, Paul Palumbo of Franklin, Joan Szemethy and her husband Lou of Hopedale, Victoria Caezza and her husband John of Milford and David Palumbo and his wife Julia of Wrentham.

He is also survived by his siblings, Gloria Marino of Franklin and B. John Palumbo of Mendon. Albert was predeceased by three sisters, Georgette Chiccarelli of Milford, Anne Manella of Milford, and Frances Pratt of Milford.

Albert is also survived by his grandchildren, Sean Klipple and his wife Samantha, Matthew Klipple, Savannah Szemethy and her husband Matthew Gagnon and Rachel and Sarah Szemethy. Albert's great-grandchild Number 1 is due in January.

His funeral mass will be held on Wednesday, January 15, 2025 in St. Mary’s Church, Franklin at 11:00a.m.

Burial will be in the parish cemetery.

Visitation will be on Wednesday from 9:00-10:45 a.m. in the Ginley Funeral Home of Franklin ginleyfuneralhomes.com 131 Main Street, Franklin.
