Safewise has released its rankings of the safest cities and towns in every U.S. state, including Massachusetts.
Northborough was named the safest town in Massachusetts, according to the 2025 State of Safety in America rankings from Safewise.com. The report was released last month and named the safest cities and towns in the country based on crime rates and other data from the Federal Bureau of Investigation. Medway secured sixth place, behind Lexington and ahead of Holliston.
A historical banner has been posted by the Historical Commission and DPW in Norfolk Town Center, and will be there until April 22. It commemorate the Battle of Lexington and Concord which took place 250 years ago as of 4/19/2025, and toward which numerous local soldiers mustered on that day.
Tuesday afternoon, Lieutenant Governor Kim Driscoll chaired a meeting of the Local Government Advisory Commission Meeting at the Franklin Municipal Building. The Commission ia an independent advocate for the interests of local governments in their relations with state and federal governments. Members are mayors and other senior officials from the state's cities and towns. The Tuesday event, a few dozens members of the Commission joined for discussions.
