MEDWAY: Joseph Kasparian

Joseph Kasparian, 91, of Medway, Mass. and formerly of Milford, Mass., died on Tuesday, May 20, 2025 surrounded by his loving family at his son’s residence in Medway. He was the beloved husband of Agnes (Barsamian) Kasparian, who died in 2017.

He was born in Worcester, Mass., the son of the late John D. and Virginia (Eghiazarian) Kasparian. He attended Worcester public schools and was a graduate of Worcester Boys’ Trade School, Class of 1952. He also attended the American Institute of Banking from 1959 to 1966.

Joseph had a successful career in the banking industry, working for the First National Bank in Westboro, Mass. , followed by the Framingham National Bank, Union Market National Bank and finally BayBank (now Bank of America).

Joseph was a veteran of the Korean conflict, serving in the US Air Force from 1952 to 1956.

He resided in Worcester until he married Aggie, then moved to Holliston, where he and his family lived for 40 years. He moved to Milford in 2007, then to Medway in 2022. He was an avid gardener and people often stopped to admire his beautiful variety of flowers. A man of deep faith and strong values, he never had an unkind word and made deep friendships at work, in his community, at church and at his retirement home.

Joseph is survived by his three children: Linda Kasparian Sprague, wife of Brian Sprague of Uxbridge, Mass., Brian Kasparian and his wife Elizabeth of Medway, Mass., and Glenn Kasparian and his wife Tracy of Worcester, Mass. He is also survived by his grandchildren Julie Kasparian of Boston, Nicholas Kasparian of Worcester, and Maddy Field of Worcester.

He was a proud volunteer at Milford Regional Medical Center, working into his 91st year.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, May 30 at 11:30 am at the Armenian Church of the Holy Translators, 38 Franklin St., Framingham, Mass. Visitation will be held on Friday, May 30 from 10:00am to 11:30 am at the church prior to the funeral service. Burial with military honors will follow in Vernon Grove Cemetery in Milford.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Armenian Church of the Holy Translators, 38 Franklin St., Framingham, MA 01702.
