Robert Archer "Bobby" "Papa Bob" Briggs, 84, passed away peacefully on June 22, 2025, in Franklin, Massachusetts.

Born on October 7, 1940, Robert was educated in the Medway Public Schools and graduated from Norfolk County Agricultural High School. He went on to operate the beloved Shady Oaks Farm following the passing of his father. Known for his deep affection for his Jersey herd know for their gentle nature and rich milk Robert crafted what many considered the best chocolate milk and eggnog around. His holiday deliveries became a cherished tradition for countless customers.

A true steward of the land, Robert found joy in working the fields, tinkering with his tractors, and collecting milk bottles from across the country. He was known for his warm humor and love of conversation, always welcoming visitors with a smile. His farm became a gathering place for community events like Antique Tractor Pulls, where he invited both the Old Coots and the general public to share in his passions.

Robert is survived by his sisters Ellen Galleger of Corpus Christi, TX, and Arlene (Ed) Siderski of Portsmouth, RI; stepsons Daniel Cormier and Shawn (Joanne) Cormier of Woonsocket, RI; sons James (Jennifer) Briggs of Colby, WI, and Andrew (Michelle) Briggs of Medway, MA; grandchildren Cody (Jessica) Wenke of Montrose, IA; Justin Briggs of Colby, Wi and Hayden and Travis Briggs of Medway, MA; along with four great-grandchildren.

He was predeceased by his beloved wife Nancy J. Briggs; parents Reginald and Thelma Briggs; stepdaughter Nancy Cormier; and grandson Michael Boudreau.

A Celebration of Life will be announced at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made The Norfolk Aggie Foundation , MSPCA, or The Trustees of Preservation.

Robert will be remembered as a gentle giant with a generous heart and tireless spirit. May his memory bring comfort to all who knew him.

The Briggs family will be forever grateful for the unending Friendships and support of John Boczanowski , The widowers Breakfast Club , The Solari’s and too many more to list. Thank you so much for being there for Bob right to the end.
