The Medway Lions were chartered way back in 1982, a local organization that is part of a network of 1.4M members worldwide. The organization as a whole is famous for its work supporting eye research and, the Medway Lions Club contributes to that effort as well as to many other charitable efforts locally.
This Saturday in Medway, they are conducting another of their bottle and can drives, an easy way for the community to come together for a common cause. Medway residents just have to place their redeemable bottles and cans at the end of their driveways by 8:30 a.m. on Saturday and the Medway Lions volunteers do the rest, transforming these bottles and cans into community charitable giving.
According to the Medway Lions web site the Police Holiday Fund, High School Peer Counseling, Medway food pantries, ultrasound therapy machine for High School Athletic Dept, eyeglasses & eye exams for Medway residents in need, 14 fruit trees at Medway Community Farms, and Medway Day all were paid for or supported with proceeds from the Lions monthly drive.
