An Inspiring Flurry of Legislation from Nutmeg State

Our neighbors in Connecticut have some pretty revolutionary ideas! Hartford recently outlawed marriage between first cousins, something Massachusetts has declined to do. And, in response to a 350 percent increase in bike accidents many ebike users will now be required to have a proper driver's license and carry insurance, the opposite of policies in the Bay State.

Fall-Winter Schedules for MBTA but Not Franklin Line

The Franklin/Foxboro and Providence/Stoughton lines remain on temporary construction schedules as Amtrak’s emergency infrastructure repairs will continue beyond October 27.

Norfolk County Register of Deeds Fires Another Salvo

The endless turf (and money) war between the county's three commissioners and the  Register of Deeds has now produced   a fiery letter from the latter.  He complains that the the county has exiled his disaster recovery site and its computers and storage to a former "smoking lounge" at Norfolk Aggie, which not only lacks many of the amenities formerly found in Dedham but is not ADA compliant or certified for occupancy by the town.

According to the Franklin town website, for the next several weeks, drivers should expect RT. 140 (West Central Street) Lane Closure Alert 7pm to 5am!  During this time there will be evening lane closures on RT. 140 from 7pm to 5am. Please use caution when traveling in this area and follow all posted signs. Note that this work is expected to continue from Sunday night through Thursday morning for the next 6 to 8 weeks.
