I am gratified that an alleged person who may be guilty of crimes involving child pornography is being brought to justice in a local community. He is a rare creature, because he appears to be a Brazilian citizen. Most of the Brazilians I have met over the years have been very hardworking honest people who have a wide variety of skills that all vibrant societies can use and indeed need. I went to college with many people of both Portuguese and Brazilian background with whom I had a lot of lively discussions over my four years of undergraduate life in the groves of academe.
I have looked into the ethnicity of most people who have been accused of similar crimes, and surprise-surprise, it turns out that the substantial majority of them are American citizens of Caucasian-often White-Anglo-background! Why is it that when criminal activity is reported we almost never read about the ethnicity of these persons who are mostly United States citizens of white European background?
As you know, Attorney General Pam Bondi has been ordered to turn over the Epstein Files to Congressional Committees investigating sexual crimes committed against minor children mostly by that white billionaire, Jeffrey Epstein and his pals on Little James Island at Epstein’s resort. Those papers were supposed to have been turned over to Congress some little time ago, but to date, only one per-cent of those documents have been turned over to Congress. Of those documents turned over, a huge amount of those documents have been redacted!
The excuse given for these redactions is that the names of “The Innocent” must be protected. So, just who does Bondi consider innocent. Epstein’s long-time best friend, who now holds high public office who has been photographed with Epstein for more than a decade-and-half, might have his name under all of that black ink. But will Congress ever know? Too bad Epstein wasn’t a Brazilian national and his “bestie” the deposed President of Venezuela. Maybe we could figure out exactly who was “Hanging-out” on Little James Island with Jeff Epstein and the rest of the pervert gang who I am willing to bet were mostly the “lily-white cream of international society”, like the odd English Prince and Royal Duke of York, who I do not think was a Brazilian National. If fact I suggest that you “You Tube” some of this stuff concerning Epstein and his pals, and see who is involved with the majority of these crimes.
If Joao Carlos Tavares Da Silva is bound over for trial by a grand jury, and tried and found guilty by a jury of his peers in a duly constituted court for his alleged crimes, may justice be served. The fact that he is a Brazilian National has nothing to do with his guilt or innocence an individual criminal. In point of fact, finding Brazilian law-breakers is a rather difficult thing to do, because their history in this country has been a history of a hard-working law abiding demographic group many of whom become U. S. Citizens and a great asset to our national community.
If you study criminal demographics, Google can help you here. Maybe you will be surprised to learn just what ethnic groups are most associated with more exotic and sexual criminal activity. You will find out it’s not people of Brazilian background. Alas, this is just a thought. I think that most of you are not ethically challenged and are fair-minded.

[Ed Note: Jim, I think you make some legitimate points here but as an individual with, according to family tradition, relatives in Brazil, as well as having Observer advertisers from Brazil, I certainly don't mean to impugn that ethnic group; I simply reprint what was provided from the US Attorney's office. It may be of some significance that the individual in question seems to have fled from Brazil to the US to escape serious criminal charge involving sexual offences and, in essence, seems to have repeated that behavior here.]
