Joseph J. Ferrari, 84 of Ashland passed away Wednesday Feb. 4, 2026. Born in Framingham, he was the son of the late Lazar and Filena (Seymour) Ferrari and husband to Judith (Clifford) Ferrari for 58 years. Mr. Ferrari was the co-owner with his father of Ferrari Fur Farm, which raised mink. He went on to receive his masters degree from Assumption College and began a long teaching career in the Town of Franklin school system. He was a past president of the Franklin Teachers Association and served on the executive board for the Mass. Teacher’s Association. An avid outdoorsman, he enjoyed fishing, skiing and golfing.
In addition to his wife, Joseph is survived by one daughter, Katherine Lee Ferrari of Sudbury, four grandchildren, Lenna, Anna, Lewis, and Katarina Makrigiannis, one sister, Joanne Ferrari Preiser and her husband Richard of Needham, and three nephews, Joshua and Daniel Preiser, and Nathan Adams.
A funeral service will be celebrated Monday Feb. 9th at 11:00am in the Chapel of the Matarese Funeral Home, 325 Main St. Ashland, MA. There are no visiting hours.
