The Edunomics Lab at Georgetown’s McCourt School has been honing an analytical tool for policy makers and citizens that allows comparisons among school districts across the country.
According to Edunomics, many districts added staff with the generous temporary federal relief fund of the Biden era at the same time that many district began to see enrollment fall. The situation has led to uncomfortable policy choices in many communities, including Franklin. The Edunomics WANDA data set allows number crunching on a number of aspects of funding. Below are snapshots for both Franklin (which lost 587 students and gained 32 employees) and Medway (which lost 64 students and gained 15 employees).
