At 1:17 pm, Friday, the Metacomet Emergency Communication Center received a
call reporting a possible structure fire at 6 Peters Lane, which is located off of Jefferson Road in Franklin.

Minutes later, New England Fire News, a volunteer-run information-sharing site that monitors police and fire radio transmissions, stated that some reports indicated individuals were trapped at the property.

When

Franklin Fire units
arrived, according to the press release later issued by Chief Charles Allen, they found a fire in the garage of the home that was quickly
extinguished. Two residents were rescued from the house by Franklin
Fire personnel. Both were transported by the Bellingham and Medway
Fire Departments ambulances to Rhode Island Hospital.

The Franklin Fire
Department was assisted by the Bellingham. Medway, Mendon, Norfolk,
Plainville and Wrentham Fire Departments. The Foxboro Fire Department provided station coverage during the incident.

Allen also noted a special thank you
to the Franklin Police Department personnel who assisted at the
scene.

The cause of the
fire remains under investigation by the Franklin Fire Department and
the State Fire Marshal's Office.

There has been no update on the hospitalized individuals.
