Trout stocking begins soon in Massachusetts.
MassWildlife says it is stocking trout in over 450 lakes, ponds, rivers, and streams in 264 towns across Massachusetts this spring! Trout are fun to catch and make a delicious, healthy meal. Stocking will start in mid-March as ice and water conditions allow.
Ponds and lakes closest to Franklin that are regularly stocked by the Massachusetts Division of Fisheries and Wildlife. are within roughly 10–25 miles and are commonly stocked during the spring and fall programs. MassWildlife stocks brook, brown, rainbow, and tiger trout.
