LETTER: Habitat Seeks Help on Next Build

To the Editor:

We are excited to share a unique opportunity for you to partner with Old Colony Habitat for Humanity on our upcoming affordable homeownership project on 14 Island Road in Norton.

The property for this project was generously donated by a private donor who wishes to remain anonymous, making it possible for us to build a new 1,440-square-foot, three-bedroom, one-and-a-half-bath home for a local family in need of affordable housing.

With your contribution, we can bring this home to life and continue fulfilling our mission to provide access to affordable homeownership and hope for a brighter future. Homeownership empowers families by fostering self-reliance, stability, confidence, and opportunities for future growth and success.

To bring this vision to life, please consider supporting us in any of these ways:

-Corporate Build Sponsorships – Host a team volunteer build day.

-Tax-Deductible Contributions – 100% of your donation will help defray building expenses that are not donated.

-Material Donations – Contribute needed supplies such as building materials, fixtures, appliances, or other construction-related items.

- In-Kind Labor – Offer skilled or licensed services such as electrical, plumbing, HVAC, carpentry, painting, excavation, landscaping, or other trades.

Your support can be acknowledged in a variety of ways, including prominent signage at the build site, recognition on our website and social media platforms, mentions in project-related press releases and newsletters, and acknowledgment of your charitable, tax-deductible contribution.

The Island Road build is more than a construction project—it is an opportunity to create long-term stability for a local family while helping address the growing need for affordable homeownership in our community. Thanks to the generosity of our anonymous land donor, we have an incredible foundation on which to begin. Now, with the support of local businesses, contractors, volunteers, and community partners, we can turn that generosity into a place a family can proudly call home.
