ICYMI: Historic Medway Fire Engine is Back

Recently, according to a posting on the Medway Town Website, Town Manager Michael Boynton, members of the Medway Fire Department and Medway Police Department, and former Medway Fire Chiefs and firefighters gathered to welcome home the newly restored 1964 Maxim S Engine 1.

Retired Chaplain Rick Marcoux offered a special blessing for the engine and all those in attendance.

The Maxim Motor Company was an American automaker headquartered in Middleborough, Massachusetts, specializing in the manufacture of firefighting apparatus. From the time of its founding in 1920[ to the end of operations in 1989, the company manufactured over 3,000 fire engines, including Medway's example.

Franklin's reunion with its historic fire apparatus ended up with the town and the equipment parting company after a few years.
