Applications for the 2026-2027 school year have re-opened for Grade Eight only. (Sorry, applications for all other grades are not available.) Apply now through September 15th at 8 am and if the number of applications exceed the number of openings a lottery will be run on September 15th at 10 am.

Senate Write-in Campaign Falls Short
The effort by Franklin's Charles Bailey to secure a slot on the November ballot for state senator through a write-in campaign has fallen just shy of the required minimum number of votes.
Same Song, New Date
Massachusetts lawmakers are seeking to designate Sept. 25 as "9 to 5 Day" in honor of American icon Dolly Parton under a bill (SD 4203 / HD 6304) filed Thursday by Provincetown Sen. Julian Cyr and Boston Rep. Sam Montaño. Parton, a country music legend and philanthropist, died Aug. 25 at the age of 80 in Nashville, Tenn. The lawmakers said the bill follows the lead of counterparts in Tennessee who recently introduced a bill to designate Sept. 25 as "9 to 5 Day" following Parton's death, in celebration of Parton "and all people on the job working 9 to 5."
Eastern Mass West Nile
Late last week, the Massachusetts Department of Public Health (DPH) announced the sixth human case of West Nile virus (WNV) in Massachusetts this year, in a man in his 70s who was most likely exposed in a part of Suffolk County outside of Boston.Alert levels have been raised across much of Eastern Massachusetts.
Mayhem in MIlford
According to a Boston 25 report, a suspect is in custody charged with attempted murder after a stabbing on Sunday night in Milford. Around 6:24 p.m., emergency crews received multiple 911 calls reporting a stabbing in the Hayward Street area. One caller said they were en route to the hospital with an 18-year-old victim.
