State Police Museum Brings French and Electric Blue Livery to Franklin

The Franklin Historical Museum will be hosting a historic vehicle  from the Massachusetts State Police Museum and Learning Center in Whitinsville on Saturday, Sept. 26 from 2-5.. There will also be a talk on State Police history by Franklin resident and retired Trooper, Robert Leverone at 2 pm. The Franklin Historical Museum, at 80 West Central Street, offers, free admission, and free popcorn on our front portico.  The rain date is Sunday, Sept. 27. at the same times.

Beaver Street Interceptor update

Construction Updates ~ Monday, Sept. 21 through Friday Sept. 25
West Central Street (Near BJ's) Potential Lane Closure Alert: Monday (9/21) through Friday (9/25) 7 AM to 4 PM Monday (9/21) through Friday (9/25) between 7 AM and 4 PM the contractor will work on the elevated sewer along West Central Street. During this time there will be a lane closure on West Central Street between 99 Restaurant and BJ's. Traffic leaving BJ's and the Conlyn Avenue area will be detoured onto Forge Parkway to access Rt. 140. Please use caution when traveling in this area and follow all posted detour signs.
Grove St - Rt 140 to RR Crossing:
Tuesday (9/22) Tuesday, September 22, between 7 AM and 4 PM, the Contractor will start reclaiming the road and preparing the area for final pavement. Grove St will remain open to traffic entering from Rt 140. Traffic approaching Rt 140 on Grove St will use the Beaver St. detour, please follow posted signs. Please plan for potential delays or seek an alternate route.
Old West Central - Between Tri-County Drive and Pond St:
Wednesday (9/23) Wednesday, September 23, between 7 AM and 4 PM, the Contractor will start reclaiming the road and preparing the area for final pavement. Traffic will be reduced to one lane in the area during this time. Please plan for potential delays or seek an alternate route.

I-90/495 Interchange News

The I-495 northbound ramp to Route 9 East (Exit 59A) will be closed nightly from Monday, September 21 through Thursday, September 24, from 10:00 PM each night to 5:00 AM the following morning. During these overnight closures, the following detour will be in place: Take Exit 59B (Route 9 West) to reverse direction onto I-495 southbound to access Exit 59A (Route 9 East). Appropriate signage, law enforcement details, and messaging will be in place to guide drivers through the work area. Drivers traveling through the affected areas should expect delays, reduce speed, and use caution.

Poll Workers Needed in Franklin

The town of Franklin is in need of people to work the polls on Nov 3rd.  Workers could work a full day 6:00 AM - 8:00 PM or half days in AM or PM . These are paid positions and they will train you . Sept. 26th, 12 noon to 5 pm. Rain date is Sunday, Sept. 27th , 12 noon to 4 pm.
Food vendors and trucks will serve everything from pizza and hot chicken to Indian cuisine, sweet treats
and cool desserts. Visitors will find these delicious stops along Main Street from the parking lot at The
Little Shop of Olive Oils to the Franklin Public Library.
