Energize Franklin on Saturday...

Exciting news! Energize Franklin has announced that they have a space at the Franklin Harvest Festival. Swing by their  booth by the Post Office on September 26th from 12pm to 5pm to chat about sustainability, the Energize Franklin website, and what you find inspirational about the Franklin community. There will be a model home displaying sustainable actions you may be able to take yourself and an interactive circuits kit for kids. The rain date is September 27th from 12pm-4pm.

Harvest Fest Updates Performance Schedule

Franklin Downtown Partnership’s 24th Annual Harvest Festival is set for Sat., Sept. 26th, 12 noon to 5
pm. Rain date is Sun., Sept. 27 th , 12-4 pm.
A lively mix of music and dance will entertain visitors of all ages. They will be at three places along Main
Street: the bridge, Dean Bank and Franklin Public Library.

Deed Scam Warning

Register of Deeds William P. O’Donnell is reminding Norfolk County residents to disregard a direct mail solicitation offering them a certified copy of their property deed for an outrageous fee of anywhere from $60-$128. Register O’Donnell stated, “For a number of years, a California company which has recently moved operations to Nevada has been preying on unsuspecting homeowners by sending a direct mail solicitation asking them to send a check for $128 in order to receive a copy of their deed. If a consumer knew that they could print a non-certified copy of their deed for free from our website www.norfolkdeeds.org or obtain a certified copy of their deed for a charge of only $1.00 per page plus an additional $1.00 for postage, they would never agree to pay such an outrageous fee for service. The average price for a mailed homeowner’s certified deed copy by the Registry (usually two pages) is $3.00.”
