MEDWAY: Lynn Carol Estler

Born on May 1st, 1942 in Queens, New York, the second child of Louis and Evelyne (Krempler) Estler, Lynn Carol Estler retired from her World Trade Center U.S. Customs file clerk job a few years before 9-11.

Game for almost anything, she lived for social activities and chronicled all in her famous long and winding letters!

With a passion for her own fashion, Lynn carefully coordinated outfits for all occasions! She enjoyed laughing, crafts, field trips, photography, beading, painting, drawing, pink everything, celebrations, baseball caps, manicures, and shopping. Self-taught, she crocheted and gifted many blankets, hats, purses, and scarves for family and friends. Some she also sold, along with hand-crafted jewelry.

Fond of keeping lists, Lynn was persnickety about her bowling archives. She loved to personalize her treasures, collect stuff, fill address books, watch TV and the Patriots, read newspapers, solve word games, sing, play Bingo and Skip-Bo, walk, eat ice cream, pizza, chocolates and meringues, attend the theater, win in casinos, and curate her knickknacks. She even rang hand bells in a chime music group touring local venues.

Not quiet and shy was she, but full of mirth and gaiety. She almost never met a person she didn’t like and always tried to treat them well. Though developmentally challenged, afflicted with many serious health issues, and not predicted to live long, she tenaciously surpassed all expectations with gusto.

Lynn died September 18, 2026 in Framingham, Massachusetts and is survived by siblings: Lois Sapio of California and Gary (Elizabeth) Estler of Massachusetts; nieces: Lisa Sapio (partner Bill Swisher) of Wyoming, Maria Sapio (partner Cyrus Motamed) of Hawaii, and Christianne (Anthony, Esq.) Liberatore of Connecticut and California; and many cousins, in-laws, and pals in New York, North Carolina, Florida, Texas, Massachusetts, and Colorado, and a host of strangers she had yet to befriend.

A legacy of pride and pleasure, memories our hearts treasure! A life well-lived with courage, curiosity, charm … and, of course, candy!
