Medway Parks and Recreation is offering their annual Trunk or Treat. This year it will be held at the Medway Parks and Recreation facility at 123 Holliston Street on Saturday, October 10, 2026 from 10:00 am-12:00 pm. Decorate your car, wear costumes and have fun! You will also have an opportunity to vote for your favorite trunk. Happy Hours

After taking "full responsibility" over the summer for a drunken driving arrest, Massachusetts Democratic Party Chair Steve Kerrigan is hosted a "MassDems Happy Hour" fundraiser last Tuesday at 5:30 p.m. in Boston. The invite suggested donations of $25 for students and $50 to $75 for others. "Join Chair Steve Kerrigan and Deputy Treasurers Sharon Stout, Veronica Martinez Roman and Tom Holloway in support of the Democratic ticket," the invite says. The fundraiser is set for Democracy Brewing on Temple Place. On Beacon Hill, lawmakers have not found common ground on proposals that would bring back discounted "happy hour" drinks that are legal in other states. State Starts Database of Hotwork Violators

The Department of Fire Services has launched a new, public-facing database to document violations of the State Fire Code and Massachusetts General Laws regarding welding, grinding, and other hot work processes.The database will be populated in the weeks and months to come as local departments submit their enforcement actions to DFS. It can be viewed on the DFS website, along with other hot work safety information. Since 2018, anyone seeking a municipal permit to perform, supervise, or delegate hot work must first demonstrate that they have completed a training program approved by the State Fire Marshal’s office. The training identifies the safety and prevention practices necessary to comply with the State Fire Code. Performing hot work without a permit, without the necessary training, or without complying with the Fire Code can lead to notices, citations, tickets, or other forms of enforcement. Local fire departments will notify the Department of Fire Services of these sanctions, which are automatically provided to stakeholders and uploaded weekly into the database.
