LETTER: Hyderabad Trumped

To the Editor:

I was in India recently for my mother's funeral in June. Near my mom's home, there is a street called Donald Trump Avenue. While visiting the American Consulate nearby, I happened to have a chat with the officials about it.
Hyderabad's "Donald Trump Avenue" is not the only road in the world named after Donald Trump, although it is one of the most prominent and recent examples. The road beside the U.S. Consulate in Hyderabad was officially named Donald Trump Avenue in June 2026.

Hyderabad is believed to be the first city in India—the world's most populous country and largest democracy—to name a road after Donald Trump.

According to Wikipedia: Outside India, Albania has a boulevard named after Trump, and Israel previously had a square named after him
