Beaver Street Update

Construction Updates ~ Monday, Oct. 26 through Friday, Oct. 30
Grove St (Rt. 140 to Beaver St) Road Closure Alert:
Monday (10/26) and Tuesday (10/27) 7 AM to 4 PM
Monday (10/26) and Tuesday (10/27) between 7AM and 4PM, the contractor will work on sewer main installation in the area of 20 Grove St. During this time, Grove St. will be closed to all traffic in both directions. Traffic will follow detour signs on Beaver St. to Rt 140. Local traffic only will be permitted beyond the road closed signs. Please use caution when traveling in this area and follow all posted detour signs.

Off the Streets of Milford

The US Attorney for Massachusetts has reported that an Ecuadorian national unlawfully residing in Milford, Mass. has been sentenced in federal court in Worcester for illegally reentering the United States after deportation. The defendant was previously deported from the United States and arrested several times for driving under the influence in Massachusetts.

Pike/I-495 Project

The Massachusetts Department of Transportation (MassDOT) is announcing a traffic realignment on I-495 Northbound, as well as overnight ramp closures at the I-495/I-90 interchange to facilitate construction operations.  The traffic on I-495 northbound at Flanders Road in Westborough will be shifted to its final alignment the evening of Wednesday, October 28. The new alignment will maintain the current three travel lanes on I-495 northbound over Flanders Road and provide an auxiliary lane between the ramp from I-90 westbound to the ramp to Route 9 eastbound. During this traffic shift, at least one travel lane will remain open at all times.  To facilitate the traffic realignment, the I-90 westbound tamp to I-495 northbound (Exit 106B) will be closed overnight on Wednesday, October 28 from 11:00 PM to 5:00 AM the following morning. During this overnight closure, the following detour will be in place: Take Exit 106A (I-495 southbound), down to Exit 54B, and reverse direction back onto I-495 northbound.
Additionally, the I-495 northbound ramp to Route 9 East (Exit 59A) will be closed overnight on Wednesday, October 28 from 11:00 PM to 5:00 AM the following morning. During this overnight closure, the following detour will be in place: Use Exit 59B (Route 9 westbound) to reverse direction back to I-495 southbound, then use Exit 59A.

FREE Choking Emergency Class hosted by Franklin Fire and the Franklin Health Department!

This hands-on, one-hour educational class will teach participants how to recognize choking emergencies in adults, children, and infants, including how to perform back blows and abdominal/chest thrusts. No certification is provided.
