PREVIEW: WCVB Chronicle Covers Dams – and a Local Family –on Wednesday...

Dams are everywhere in New England. Even Franklin has many human-made structures, each of which has helped create a unique ecosystem. On Wednesday, WCVB’s Ted Reinstein will be delivering a Chronicle segment in the evening looking at a diverse array of dams and their roles. One of the highlights of the segments will be a visit with Joel D'Errico, who lives in Franklin and also has a property on Eagle Pond in neighboring Wrentham, and his neighbors Bob and Pam Pellet.

According to Joel, there are moves afoot to eliminate the dam that has been there for more than two centuries, and the pond it has created, potentially injuring a critical Wrentham water resource area and a state-defined Natural Heritage Priority Site.
