No Bragging Rights: Franklin `Out' with Money Folks

The website says, “Franklin is a unique blend of history and progress...we have grown from a tiny, agricultural community into a strong blend of residential, commercial and corporate citizens. There is much to see and do in Franklin...” Then it goes on to discuss a historic Civil War battlefield, and that’s when you know you are not in 02038 anymore.

Recently, Money magazine, released its annual list of “best places,” highlighting locales “where job growth is rising, home prices are affordable, and the quality of life shines,” and our Southern brethren shot right into the top five, nationally, thanks to all that, as well as farmers markets, museums, open space, and an ample, walkable downtown.

Meanwhile, the sole representatives from New England to make the top 50 were Westford, Mass., and Salem, NH.

For the record, Franklin has been highly ranked for over all quality of life in a number of national surveys over the past 20 years. Just not this time.
