Thou Shalt and Thou Shalt Not—(Yes, the Campaign is Heating Up!)

Well, it doesn’t take long. No sooner is the ballot finalized then the hard-sell of getting elected begins.

But this week’s anonymous calling card with unexplained promotion of some candidates as “Yes” and smearing of others as “No” is a new high or low in town politics, depending on one’s perspective. How about giving voters a chance to see candidates “in action” on Oct 15 and Oct 21 at the upcoming forums? A correspondent suggests that the card was the product of a school committee candidate – we don’t know -- but the campaign finance reports, due soon, may offer clues for those willing to dig. For now, we will credit Mr./Ms. anonymous...In any case, we hear that the little card is getting little love on Facebook.

Over the next four weeks we can look forward to (more) fundraisers, coffees, “standouts” (with campaign signs), and, of course, Joe Halligan’s pink Smart Car to keep us engaged with the electoral process!
