The Franklin High School Class of 1971 held its 50th Class Reunion this past weekend, an event that attracted 47 former classmates plus spouses and significant other for a total of more than 60 attendees.
Prior to the event, most also attended a Quilts of Valor Ceremony at the Franklin Historical Museum, described by one attendee as “a very moving experience.” The Veteran’s Agent reportedly got the idea from a member of the Class of `71 who is involved with the National Quilts of Valor Organization...
Member of the Class who received quilts included:
>Ronald Ayotte
>Paul Beach
>Gary Bresnahan
>Shirley Garrity
> William Getchell
>Tony Gargiulo
One Veteran that didn’t attend the reunion, asked for his Quilt to be donated to a homeless veteran. All quilts were donated by a Quilts group called The Shorebirds of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina.
