David John Trenouth Sr., 81, beloved and devoted husband of Jeanne (McDonough) Trenouth, passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by his loving family on Sunday, May 1, 2022. He was a kind, caring and selfless person, always offering a helping hand. What endeared David to his family and friends was his quiet yet strong nature. Even during his long illness with Parkinson's, David faced every challenge with bravery, strength and tenacity, as he was determined to enjoy every day to the fullest, just as he did his whole life. He will remain our hero forever.

Family, along with a great love of art and music, was central to David's life. Five children, nine grandchildren and three great grandchildren filled the home he and Jeanne made together in their 61 year marriage. Family vacations on the beaches of Truro and the coast of Maine were happy times. David was a self-taught guitar and piano player and could play the American songbook, along with requests, and Jeanne's favorites.

David was a natural athlete. His first love was hockey, whether it was played on Puddy's Pond in his native Pondville (Norfolk), or on Sweet's Pond in West Mansfield with the local kids, making us proud as he shoveled the ice and laced up skates, as nobody could tighten skates like Daddy. He played quarterback for the Franklin High School football team. Go Panthers. Golf was a passion he pursued at the Willowdale Golf Course in Mansfield. His love of the game of chess has now been passed down through to his great grandchildren.

Illustrating and sketching came natural to him. He used those skills in his career as a draftsman, working at Factory Mutual in Norwood, where he met his wife, Jeanne, and at Chas T. Main, and Parsons Main Inc., in Boston.

Born in Boston, March 1, 1941 the son of the late William and Angelina (Dellelis) Trenouth, David is survived by his children Julia Einstein of Raleigh, NC, Margaret Kuplast and her husband Peter of Mansfield, MA, David Trenouth Jr., and his wife Mary of Woonsocket RI, Amy McKenna and her husband Jeff of Sharon, MA, and Sarah Crosby and her husband Mark of Lincoln, MA. He was grandfather to Lucas Einstein and his wife Jaclyn Einstein, Max, Phyllis, and Peter Kuplast, Sophia Trenouth, Riah and Carter McKenna, and Bridget and Fiona Crosby. Also, great-grandfather to Max, Nicholas, and Elle. David is also survived by his siblings Carol Vella of Bolton, Ronald Trenouth and his companion Lois Durning of South Walpole, the late Linda Padula and her husband James Padula of Franklin MA, William Trenouth and his wife Pam of Franklin TN, and Jeanne Mucciarone and her husband David of South Walpole.
