Courtesy of the Black Box, which made its facilities available Monday, Project Manager Emma Battaglia from Metropolitan Area Planning Council (MAPC) reviewed draft recommendations prepared by her organization for substantially changing the town's zoning (Franklin for All). The meeting was attended by member of town government and about two dozen others in the in-person setting. A similar number seemed to be participating by Zoom and telephone.

The handouts and slides were general in nature making it hard to compare and contrast existing and proposed regulations or to see exactly how they would impact specific locations. However, Battaglia said printable PDFs would be available on request.

Questions ran the range from whether there would be sufficient town water for substantially more people in town tospecifics ones about "by right" accessory dwelling units and multi family structures. Battaglia had said she had been told there would no issue with any growth foreseeable under the plan and asserted that current watering restrictions ' are just a state rule' and not reflective of the limits of the underlying aquifer.

More details will be forthcoming -- and more events...
