Candlepin bowling is a passion largely confined to the Northeast, not far from where it was invented in the 19th century. But it still attracting devotees in the 21st century.
Franklin's own Marissa Ewing, a senior has won a noteworthy distinction in the candlepin world, according to a facebook post by Ryan Family Amusements. In the Outrun The Bear Candlepin Bowling Tournament, held at their facility since 2014, Ewing was first singles female and youngest winner. The final results of the singles handicap tournament:
