Garden Club Program of Making Sourdough Bread

Franklin, MA – A program and live demonstration on how to make sourdough bread and starter mix will highlight the October meeting of the Franklin Garden Club. Members will receive a dehydrated starter mix to take home. The meeting will take place on Tuesday, October 6, 2026, at the Franklin Senior Center, 10 Daniel McCahill Street, from 6:00– 8:30 p.m. beginning with an informal social time from 6:00 – 6:30pm followed by the program. The meeting is open to the public, including those interested in becoming a member.

The program will be presented by Olivia Thomes of Hares Paw Farm, Lakeville, MA. The farm was founded in 2020 by Olivia and her husband. They were seeking simplicity and a reconnection to nature. Operations consist of all natural practices: no-till, no sprays, and crops are cared for and harvested all by hand. The farm offers tours and a variety of workshops, including those related to cooking classes, wellness information, seasonal meals, raising livestock and gardening tips. Thomes has more than 10 years of experience offering workshops in a variety of fields.
