3/26/2023
Fraud
Brandywine Road
On Sunday, 3/26/2023 at approximately 3:15 pm an Officer took a fraud report from a resident of Brandywine Road. It was reported the victim was scammed and sent $1120 over Facebook following a post from a Franklin Community Facebook page. The scammer was selling fake Taylor Swift tickets. An investigation was opened.
3/27/2023
Vandalism
224 Oak Street
On Monday, 3/27/2023 at approximately 9:17 am an Officer responded to the ECDC School for a report of vandalism to construction equipment. A windshield was smashed on a skid steer doing work around the school. An investigation was opened.
Section 35
Franklin
On Monday, 3/27/2023 at approximately 11:23 am Officers responded to a residence in Franklin to serve a section 35 which is an involuntary commitment for substance abuse. The individual was located and transported to the Wrentham District Court.
Motor Vehicle Violation
480 West Central Street
On Monday, 3/27/2023 at approximately 1:30 pm an Officer was conducting traffic enforcement in the area of 480 West Central Street when they observed a motor vehicle violation. After an investigation, the operator, a 34-year-old Attleboro resident received a criminal summons for:
-Using an electronic device while operating a motor vehicle
-Operating a motor vehicle with a suspended license

Joval Court
On Monday, 3/27/2023 at approximately 3:19 pm an Officer took a fraud report from a resident of Joval Court. An AT&T account was opened with the victim’s information. An investigation was opened.
Larceny
309 East Central Street Pet Supply Plus
On Monday, 3/27/2023 at approximately 5:48 pm an Officer responded to the Pet Supply Plus for a report of a larceny. It was reported a male entered the store and bought several items using a stolen credit card. An investigation was opened.
3/28/2023
Swatting Active Shooter
218 Oak Street
On Tuesday, 3/28/2023 at approximately 9:00 am Officers responded to the Franklin High School for a report of an active shooter. Other area communities were experiencing swatting calls reporting similar active shooter calls. The High School was placed on lock down and officers cleared the High School. It was determined this was a swatting incident. An investigation was opened.

129 Dean Avenue
On Wednesday, 3/29/2023 at approximately 7:09 am Officers assisted the Franklin Fire Department with a fire at 129 Dean Avenue. An investigation was opened.
Stolen Motor Vehicle
Milliken Avenue
On Wednesday, 3/29/2023 at approximately 7:12 pm an Officer took a report of a stolen motor vehicle from a resident of Milliken Avenue. It’s believed the vehicle was taken by someone known by the victim. An investigation was opened.

Jefferson Road
On Thursday, 3/30/2023 at approximately 12:02 pm an Officer took a fraud report from a resident of Jefferson Road. It was reported someone filed taxes using the victim’s social security number. The victim was referred to the IRS and an investigation was opened.

Maple Tree Lane
On Thursday, 3/30/2023 at approximately 12:47 pm an Officer took a fraud report from a resident of Maple Tree Lane. The victim reported their information was used to apply for unemployment benefits. An investigation was opened.

Betten Court
On Thursday, 3/30/2023 at approximately 2:13 pm an Officer took a fraud report from a resident of Betten Court. It was reported the victim’s information was used to open a Comcast account. A police report was completed, and an investigation was opened.
Motor Vehicle Crash
660 West Central Street
On Monday, 3/30/2023 at approximately 3:20 pm Officers responded to 660 West Central Street for a two-car crash. There were no reported injuries, and the damage was reported to be minor. A crash report was completed.
Larceny
Independence Way
On Monday, 3/30/2023 at approximately 3:47 pm Officers responded to the Independence Way Apartments for a report of a past larceny. It was reported 3 bicycles were stolen from the complex. An investigation was opened.
Shoplifting
198 East Central Street Devita’s Market
On Monday, 3/30/2023 at approximately 4:52 pm Officers responded to the area of 198 East Central Street for a report of shoplifting. It was reported a male stole a bottle of liquor from Devita’s Market and left the store. Officers quickly located the man. He was identified as a 38-year-old Franklin resident. He was trespassed from the store and received a criminal summons for Shoplifting.
Motor Vehicle Hit and Run
Pleasant Street
On Monday, 3/30/2023 at approximately 8:41 pm Officers responded to a residence on Pleasant Street for motor vehicle hit and run. Thirty minutes before calling the police, a resident heard a loud bang and found their mailbox destroyed. An investigation was opened.

On Friday, 3/31/2023 at approximately 9:28 am an Officer took a fraud report from a resident of Union Street. It was reported the victim was contacted by the United States Small Business Administration regarding on overdue loan opened using the victim’s information. An investigation was opened.

On Friday, 3/31/2023 at approximately 12:37 pm Officers responded to a residence in Franklin to serve a section 35 which is an involuntary commitment for substance abuse. The individual was located and transported to the Wrentham District Court.

Franklin
On Friday, 3/31/2023 at approximately 1:39 pm Officers responded to a business in Franklin for a report of an overdose. One individual was transported to the hospital by the FFD.
