According to several published reports, citing MBTA sources, a man was struck and killed by an MBTA Franklin line commuter rail train in the vicinity of the Hyde Park MBTA station.

The subsequent investigation impacted operations on theFranklin-Foxborough and Providence-Stoughton lines. Trains continued to be routed via the Fairmount line, but that prevented passengers from accessing  Back Bay, Ruggles, Forest Hills or Hyde Park stations.

Later in the day, services returned to normal. The name of the victim had not been released as of 11 pm.
