And Now, Redistricting

In the immediate wake of Wednesday's lively  public forum on various aspects of the Proposition 2 1/2 Override proposal (now headed to a vote at next Wednesday's Town Council meeting), parents, alums, and taxpayers are being hit with proposals for dramatic redistricting and consolidation of the whole Franklin Public School District.

It too has a timeline. The School Committee and administration have come up with a Plan A and a Plan B to consolidate schools, eliminating Kennedy School and Parmenter School entirely. A subcommittee has recommended Plan A, but the coming weeks will include input session and  meetings before a final vote.
