Registry of Deeds Produces Short Video About Franklin History

Image

William P. O'Donnell of Norwood is Register of Deeds for Norfolk County, and is an Assistant Recorder of the Massachusetts Land Court. He is also something of a history buff.

So, when you visit the Registry of Deeds site, you will find links to many historical and genealogical items and, in recent years, videos produced in conjunction with Quincy Television. One of the first was titled Good Deeds, “History Comes Alive” and it focused on Norwood, where O’Donnell Lives. Another focused on the many historical records held by the Registry.

The latest “History Comes Alive” focuses on Franklin and its famous library origin story. It came out of a visit O’Donnell made to town in the fall of 2023 and, reportedly, a more elaborate version is in the works. The development and production owes much to Mark Crosby   at  Quincy Access Television.

For now, you can view this concise and accessible version of our town’s history here.
