It may be August, but Franklin and Medway are both prepping for big seasonal events in September.
Medway's Farm Fest is First on Sept 7
By way of Medway Business Council, we share the following information:
Mark Your Calendar: Saturday September 7th from Noon to 4 PM! This event promises to be loads of fun for the entire family! Rain date will be Sunday the 8th, same time.
The Farm Fest will be held on the farm at 50 Winthrop Street, Medway. Family friendly and kid’s activities include bouncy house, hay rides, face painting, arts & craft projects, and more.
Medway Community Farm is thrilled to be hosting some amazing local breweries and cideries in our Beer Tent. Beer tasting tickets will be available for purchase in advance. Along with sampler tasting tickets, your purchase will also include a Medway Community Farm souvenir cup. Beer tasting tickets also give you access to purchase full pour tokens of your favorites.
There will be live music, bring your chairs and blankets and stay a while!
Bring your appetite, as food and drinks will be available for purchase, including grilled hamburgers and hot dogs, popcorn, and more.
We are excited to this year be doing a hay bale toss. We will have two classes 14-18 and adult 19 and up. How high can you throw it? This will be a $20 registration fee that will go into a 50/50 split for the two classes to the winner.

Franklin Harvest Festival Slated for Sept. 28
Franklin’s Annual Harvest Festival is set for Sat., Sept. 28, 12 noon to 5 pm, with a rain date of Sun. Sept. 29, from 12 noon to 4 pm. Typically the Harvest Fest features more than 150 booths filling Main Street, Dean Avenue, West Central and Depot Street.
Visitors to the festival will enjoy musical entertainment, food from local restaurants, kids’ crafts, painting and balloon art, specials from downtown merchants, unique artwork and crafts by local and regional artists. Community groups will be there to tell you about their organization.
The Harvest Festival is always a great time for people to gather and socialize as well as enjoying shopping and dining. Refreshments usually include gelato, coffee, bakery, smoothies, Italian sausage, pizza, hot dogs, barbecue chicken sandwiches, cheeseburgers, chicken fingers, fried dough, ice cream, apple cider, popcorn and cider donuts.
Franklin Historical Museum at 80 West Central Street (route 140) is planning a special celebration of the popular, long-running St. Rocco's Festival, with Pizza and a special appearance by Marcie DiChiara, a Franklin resident and a contestant on the Great American Recipe.
