“I take great pride in the Norfolk County Sheriff’s Office,” said Sheriff McDermott. “Our excellence stems from the quality and measure of the men and women who work here, and in their commitment to the public safety needs of the people of Norfolk County.”

The theme of this training academy was “Accountability Matters.”

“What each of these officers brings to this career will be amplified by the training and skills they have all received in our rigorous and demanding academy,” said Sheriff McDermott. “Their determination and diligence should be recognized and I am excited to welcome them into our ranks.”

Sheriff McDermott also offered high praise for his academy training staff, which is led by its Commander Captain Francis Reynolds.

“Their hard work pays off by creating a correctional facility that is second to none,” said Sheriff McDermott.

NSO 24-02 Academy Class Leader Ryan Boretti spoke on behalf of the class and thanked the academy’s instructors.

“We’ve face challenges, both physical and mental and emerged stronger because of them,” said Officer Boretti. “Most importantly we’ve learned that true success in this profession comes from our integrity, our compassion and our unwavering dedication to doing what’s right.”
