Cecilia P. Kim

1940 - 2025

East Longmeadow/Franklin, MA

Cecilia P. Kim, formerly of East Longmeadow, passed away peacefully with family by her side on March 10th at the age of 85. Born in South Korea, she met her husband, Edward Stadnicki, in 1965 while working at the Army base where he was stationed in Seoul. A lifelong Catholic, the Priest at the base vetted any would-be suitors and later presided over Cecilia and Eddie's wedding. Cecilia was a long-time communicant of Saint Michael's in East Longmeadow and later, Saint Cecilia's in Wilbraham. Cecilia is predeceased by her husband Edward and leaves a son, Donald Stadnicki of Phoenix, AZ, a daughter, Jennifer Dolinski and son-in-law Brian Dolinski of Franklin, MA; grandchildren, Kiesha Stadnicki and Courtney Stadnicki of Arlington, TX, Clayton Dolinski and Calvin Dolinski of Franklin, MA, and great grandsons, Rory Stadnicki and Remy Stadnicki of Arlington, TX.

Cecilia was a member of the St. Cecilia's Women's Club, various garden clubs, bowling leagues, and the National Mah Jongg league. Cecilia loved playing cards, particularly bridge with "the girls" and shaking down her grandsons for money. Cecilia was a daily gym-goer well into her 80s, even if it meant breaking her shoulder going too hard in Zumba. An avid golfer, Cecilia was a member of three leagues in the greater Springfield area at 80-years-old but got kicked out of her most recent league after moving closer to her daughter.

Let's face it, she was in it for the cocktails and camaraderie which didn't fly with the sticklers in Franklin. She was then relegated to recreational golf with her grandsons, minus the cocktails. Cecilia recently moved to North Smithfield, RI where she spent her last months in the excellent care of Primrose Lane in the Saint Antoine Community. Ever the social butterfly and life of the party, life at Primrose was no different as she welcomed new residents with hugs and invitations to dine with her. The only difficult part was Cecilia was used to being the alpha but needed to dethrone the incumbent. When she found out golf and bowling were go-to activities at Primrose, she was ready. Looks like you won this one, Erna. Prior to Primrose, Cecilia spent three years at Forge Hill Senior Living in Franklin, MA. The staff was wonderful and nicknamed her "Hungry All the Time," where she even garnered a "Best Appetite Award," certificate and all. May you rest in peace and never be hungry again, Cecilia. The family would like to thank Forge Hill and Primrose Lane for their exceptional care, Hope Hospice for treating Cecilia with such dignity during her last days, and a special thanks to her private caregiver Kristen King, along with Kristin Cardin and Maureen Burke of Brigham MGH for their amazing 24/7 medical and emotional support for Cecilia and her family .Visitation will be held on Thursday, March 20th from 9:00 AM - 10:00 AM at Forastiere Smith Funeral and Cremation, 220 North Main Street, in East Longmeadow. Funeral services will begin at 10:00AM from the funeral home to be followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial, at St. Michael's Parish,128 Maple St. in East Longmeadow at 11:00AM .The family will hold a private burial. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation in Cecilia's name to the Dementia Society of America.www.forastiere.com
